1st Anniversary for Market Point Pharmacy
Just one short year ago – September 8th, 2008, to be exact – Mullingar pharmacist John Keane M.P.S.I. opened the doors of Market Point Pharmacy for business. One year later, the pharmacy is proud and happy to be celebrating its first anniversary. Despite having taken the plunge in what turned into the most unpredictable and turbulent year in recent economic history, John is realistic about progress to date.
“It has been a busy year for all of us,”, John explained. “The honeymoon period for the shop must be the shortest in history. Thinking about the challenges posed by the global financial crisis and the cutbacks imposed by the H.S.E., I realised that there were two basic recipes for survival – to extend and improve the quality of what we do, and to develop genuine relationships with our patients and with the other health professionals we work alongside.”
The pharmacy began with two members of staff; it now employs six people, between full and part-time. They have worked well as a team to develop and maintain relationships with customers and patients, and with health professionals, not only in Market Point, but throughout the town and surrounding areas. “The key function of a pharmacist,” John maintains, “is not only to supply medicines in a safe and professional manner, but to look after the patients who place their trust in you. My motto is that they are entitled to my very best, so I feel privileged that people come into the shop and place their trust in my staff and myself. I cannot praise my members of staff enough, for their efforts and loyalty”.
To mark the anniversary and offer increased value to customers, Market Point Pharmacy is holding a Promotion Day on Friday 11th September, with a 10% discount on everything in the shop plus many spot prizes on the day, so don’t miss out on this one day only bonanza, on products ranges including Burts Bees, La Roch Posay, Mushatts No9, and many more. ….
